Tree planting in the UK

UK tree planting is vital for climate action. The UK's forests and woodlands remove about 10 million tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere every year - around 10% of the country’s emissions. Planting native trees is also vital for supporting native wildlife which is increasingly under threat due to habitat loss, including pollinators, birds, and some of our favourite mammals such as badgers, hedgehogs and pine martens. The trees planted through this Fund will also help to improve air and water quality, reduce flood risks, and boost public health and the economy. Expanding tree cover in the UK is key to building a sustainable, resilient future.
